Selling Microstock Interview

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of doing an interview with a fantastic new website for Microstock contributer's (like iStockphoto) called Selling Microstock.

It is full of tips and interviews and is a must for anyone who currently contributes to Microstock sites, or is considering to do so in the future. It is also a great read for anyone who is interested in illustration and it offers a whole range of tips and tricks to improve your skills.

New stock illustrations

I have actually managed to get a few of the sketches I uploaded the other day artworked and here are the finished pieces.

I am uploading them onto iStockphoto.com now and they should be available within the next few days. You can click here to see my iStock portfolio.

I hope to get onto the other sketches soon and will upload them as soon as they are finished.

New sketches

After a really busy few weeks freelancing across London, I was able to get some sketching done this weekend for future iStock illustrations.

They are based on the initial sketches I posted here a few weeks ago, but have been tidied up a bit.

I won't be able to get the final vector illustrations completed for a while yet, but I will post them as soon as they are finished.

Microstock website

Hey there,
I don't know if anyone is interested, but there is a new website that has been created which specialises on Microstock image banks.

It is a fantastic site which has interviews and tips from some of the great artists and illustrators who contribute to the likes of iStock etc.

I love a good Power Cut...

Not many people like power cuts, but when you're freelancing and the power goes down for four & a half hours it does mean that your day gets a little bit more enjoyable.

The agency I have been working at had a power cut on Monday which gave me an opportunity to do some mindless doodling, something which I haven't done for a long, long time. It was so refreshing to just sit there and try to create random ideas which I plucked from the air

I managed to get some great concepts from this and hopefully I will get the final illustrations posted up here in the future, but until then here is what I produced.

The Wrestlers...

I have managed to scratch some spare time together lately and have found myself starting to create a world of Wrestlers. I have three finished at the moment, but I am sure this Federation will be a grower!

These are the type of characters to give Hulk Hogan a run for his money. Though saying that he must be in his 60's now but let's face it, he is still in better shape then I have ever been!

Any way, here are the sketches and previews of the final illustrations. They should be available to buy on iStock in the next week or so... Vince McMahon, I await your call :)
