Communication in the 21st Century…

I have just finished working on this illustration for my iStock portfolio. It will be available to purchase as a Royalty-Free image within the next couple of days.

I have been meaning to work on this illustration for a while, as the way technology has evolved and how the older generation try to keep up with it, is something that has intrigued me of late.

Below are the original sketches and a closer look at the final image. As you can see from the sketch, the image on the screen ended up changing quite dramatically. Also, if you are a little freaked out by the characters without any pupils in their eyes, I must apologise. I do tend to not draw them in. I have no idea whether it is laziness or not, but if I know I am going to creating a digital illustration I just don’t do it.

Happy New Year

Just before we wave goodbye to 2011, I thought I would post a couple of illustrations I have worked on over the Christmas break.

They aren't anything amazing, it is just some character design work I was doing in between that lull of Christmas and the New Year.

You will notice that I have created two different executions for the same concept, with the idea of the man taking his head off. It is a bit of a warped idea that I have had knocking around in my head for quite some time. Though when it came to drawing it, I wasn't sure which style I wanted to do it in and so produced it in both.

Doodle Advent Calendar – Day 19

Check mate

You may remember I posted the sketch of this character a while ago, but I finally managed to get it artworked over the weekend. I went for a more loose style to the background, as I felt it sat a little better with my style compared to a more regimented look.

It will be available to purchase as a royalty-free image from iStockphoto in the next few days.

Army of Bees

 

I have managed to get this illustration finished off today and so I thought I would preview it on here before I upload it onto iStock.

The illustration is of an Army of Bee's as they are about to take flight and leave the Hive. It should be available to purchase within the next week or so on iStock.

New work in progress

I have managed to get a few days off this week to coincide with the World Cup, though after today I wish I hadn't bothered.

On the positive side of things though, I have been able to work on a few illustrations. They have mainly been initial sketches, though I have completed one illustration which I will be uploading onto iStock within the next few days.
