New style update
After getting a little bit of spare time recently, I was able to start looking at evolving this new style I mentioned a few weeks back.
I have had a bit of a play around with some sketches, but have just uploaded a first attempt of an illustration for people to buy on iStock. You can download it by clicking here
I am not completely happy with the style yet, but I feel it is moving in the right direction. I was aiming for total simplicity, yet a bold definition to the style and I think it is getting there.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks as always!
Dan

You're probably not interested, but...
I was working on a project for a client the other day and thought it may be of interest to some people to upload a few stages of how I go about working out an illustration.
I know some people don't care, but I must admit I am a bit of geek when it comes to seeing how people develop their sketches into the final concept.
I won't bore you with the ins and outs of it, but I just thought I'd unload the initial scamp, first sketch and then final illustration.
Here is the first scamp which I normally do whilst flicking through the net when I am referencing certain elements for the illustration.
Once I am happy with the composition I will then work up the first sketch. For this illustration, I produced it in two parts. For the iMac and then the sketch of the character. I just did this so that it was easier for me to artwork the character once signed off.
Finally, once the illustration is signed off I will artwork the final design and here it is...
